This Privacy Policy explains how Loved By Her LLC (“Loved By Her”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a limited liability company registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Alora mobile application and related services (the “Application”). We are the controller of that data.
The Application is designed to talk with you about dating, relationships, intimacy, and how you feel. Using it means sharing sensitive information with us. Please read Section 3 before you use it.
The Application includes an AI assistant presented as “Maureen”, a fictional AI character inspired by Alora’s cofounder, Maureen Evelyn. When you use it, your conversations, uploaded content, feedback, and derived profile (“AI Content”) are processed by automated systems and by our AI providers (currently OpenAI for responses and transcription) to generate responses, remember context, personalize the Application, and improve safety. AI Content stays linked to your account.
In practice this means the messages you type, the voice notes you record (sent to OpenAI for transcription), the photos and screenshots you upload, and the answers you give during onboarding. When you first install the Application on iOS, we ask for your permission in the app before any of this is sent.
Authorized staff and contractors may read AI Content to provide support, respond to reports of abuse or safety concerns, debug problems, and evaluate and improve the AI assistant. Access is limited to people who need it for these purposes.
Our AI providers process your content to provide their service to us. Under our agreements with them they do not use your content to train their models.
This means your conversations are not private in the way a diary, a therapy session, or a conversation with a licensed professional is. AI responses are for information and self-reflection only and are not medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice.
Because of what the Application is for, the information you share will often be sensitive: your relationships, sex life and sexual orientation, mental and emotional health, and sometimes health conditions, religion, or experiences of abuse. The Application also infers some of this, for example an attachment style.
By choosing to share this information with the Application, you consent to our collecting and processing it for the purposes in Section 4. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your account (Settings > Account > Delete account) or by emailing us; withdrawal does not affect processing that happened before it. We do not use sensitive information for advertising, and we do not sell it. If you live in Washington or Nevada, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy also applies.
We may also create aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you and use it for any purpose.
Where processing is based on consent you may withdraw it at any time, as described in Sections 3, 6, and 11.
We use PostHog to understand how the Application is used. Where analytics are permitted, the Application may record a sample of sessions, including the screens you visit and the text shown or typed in the Application, so we can find problems and improve the experience. Recordings are linked to your account, are never sold, and are never used to show you ads. Where you live in a region in which we ask for consent before analytics run (currently the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions), analytics and recording run only if you allowed them, and you can change your choice under Settings > Privacy Choices. Where no separate choice is shown, you agree to analytics and session recording by accepting this Privacy Policy and using the Application; you can withdraw at any time, and have recordings of your sessions deleted, by emailing maureen@lovedbyher.com.
To measure which marketing brought people to the Application, we share device identifiers and in-app events (such as install, trial start, and subscription) with AppsFlyer (our attribution provider), Meta, and Google. We do not share the content of your conversations, your onboarding answers, or your derived profile with these partners.
We share personal data only as follows:
We do not sell your personal data for money. We do share device identifiers and app events with advertising and attribution partners as described in Section 6, which some privacy laws define as a “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described in Section 11. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal data of anyone under 18.
We are located in the United States and our service providers store and process data in the United States. If you use the Application from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region with data-transfer rules, your personal data is transferred to the United States. Where required, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework certifications of our providers, and your rights under this Privacy Policy continue to apply.
If Loved By Her is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of some or all of its assets, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. The recipient will be bound by this Privacy Policy for data collected under it, and we will tell you in the Application or by email if a transfer changes who is responsible for your data.
When you delete your account, we delete your account data, conversations, derived profile, uploaded files, analytics profile, and AI observability traces from our systems and our service providers. Deletion, including copies in database backups, is complete within 30 days. We keep transaction records as required for accounting, and records we need to establish or defend legal claims. Data we are legally required to keep, or that we need to establish or defend a legal claim, is kept for as long as that requirement lasts.
You have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent. You may complain to your local data-protection authority. We respond to requests within one month, extendable where the law allows.
Depending on where you live (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal data we collect, use, and share; to access it; to correct it; to delete it; to obtain a copy; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data and of targeted advertising; to limit the use of sensitive personal data; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
The Application is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has an account, email maureen@lovedbyher.com and we will delete it.
We have a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation. We do not allow content that sexualizes or endangers minors. Such content is removed and reported to the appropriate authorities. Report concerns to maureen@lovedbyher.com.
Some accounts have community features (posts, comments, and friends). For those accounts, you can block another user from their profile, and blocked users cannot interact with you. Anyone can report content or another user by emailing maureen@lovedbyher.com. We may review reports and take action at our discretion.
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy. Each version has a version number and effective date, listed at alora.love/legal; earlier versions are available on request. We will notify you in the Application or by email about material changes where the law requires it.
